Job Description

2 Animal Research Technician positions available:

Possess knowledge of and ability to perform animal husbandry duties following the appropriate standard operating procedures required in the area.
Work under direct supervision in a team environment.

Qualified candidates will have the following skills and abilities

? Understand and be committed to the client's Mission and Vision and Values ? Know and maintain compliance with GLP, FDA, USDA, AAALAC, IACUC, and all other applicable regulations and guidelines as they apply to the non-clinical research environment. ? Adhere to standard operating procedures, work instructions, department guidelines, policies, and study protocols when completing the following: o Animal Husbandry o Animal Handling o Animal Observation o Documentation o Data Collection o Housekeeping o Stocking Supplies o Maintaining Equipment o Cageroom Rotation ? Participate in the overall function of the Research Operations department which may include o Late shift coverage o Animal/employee training o Study support o Process improvement processes o Support of department goals ? Weekend and holiday shift coverage is a requirement of this position. ? Perform computer and clerical functions to ensure organized and accurate reporting of animal observations, tasks, and data collection. ? The Assistant position is expected to assist the team in the completion of daily tasks as individual duties are completed. ? Perform other related duties as requested.

Requirements

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Able to read, understand and follow department and facility procedures and policies.
• Demonstrate legible handwriting
• Experience handling multiple animal species
• Experience working independently and in a team environment
• Experience communicating individually and within a team
• Experience working with computer applications and web-based applications
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School Diploma
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
0-2 years related animal research/care
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
An understanding of animal use in a research environment.
